The Three Heavens (Macrocosm, Microcosm and Multiverse)

Introduction

You may have heard that Jesus is in Heaven. Great, but which one?

Did you know that there are in fact three Heavens?

2 Corinthians 12:2

"I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven"

Isn’t that interesting? Why is this amazing revelation seemingly hidden from everyday Church sermons? Is there a conspiracy to hide this from the masses?

Maybe. However the conspiracy may be coming from the Bible itself because the term ‘Third Heaven’ is only mentioned once! No other obvious verses seems to have been left for us to help us understand what these so called “Three Heavens” are.

Nevertheless, we will attempt to find them regardless.

We’ll start off with the one most folks are familiar with…

Exodus 20:4

"Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth"

“Heaven Above” is what we see when we look up in the sky. No need to go into detail there.

We will call that Heaven #1.

Our next clue is from the previous chapter…

“Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you”

Note that “Kingdom of God” and “Kingdom of Heaven” are interchangeable in Scripture. In other words, they mean the same thing.

Mark 1:15

"And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel"

Matthew 10:7

"And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand"

Matthew changed the word ‘God’ to ‘Heaven’ so as not to offend the Jews he was speaking to.

So for now we will theorize that “within us” is Heaven #2.

OK, so where is Heaven #3? Behold!

Revelation 21:1

"And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea"

John is witnessing a ‘new’ Heaven! Note that the verse also mentions a “First Heaven”.

And… if that wasn’t amazing enough, look what else John sees in the very next verse…

Revelation 21:2

“And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband”

Isn’t that something? Out of this ‘New Heaven’ or Third Heaven, comes our New Jerusalem...

And speaking of New Jerusalem, have you ever wondered about it’s strange shape?

Revelation 21:16

“And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal”

Foursquare? What the heck is that supposed to represent? A Borg Mother Ship?

Lol. No. It’s not the Borg.

Remember, we are talking about the ‘Third’ Heaven here.

If the First Heaven is without us, that would represent something called the Macrocosm.

If the Second Heaven is within us, that would represent something called the Microcosm.

“Macrocosm and microcosm is an ancient Greek Neo-Platonic schema of seeing the same patterns reproduced in all levels of the cosmos, from the largest scale (macrocosm or universe-level) all the way down to the smallest scale (microcosm or sub-sub-atomic or even metaphysical-level). In the system the midpoint is Man, who summarizes the cosmos”

So what does that leave us with?

The Multiverse!

“The multiverse (or meta-universe) is the hypothetical set of infinite or finite possible universes (including the Universe we consistently experience) that together comprise everything that exists: the entirety of space, time, matter, and energy as well as the physical laws and constants that describe them”

Note that there are other terms used to mean the same thing...

“In these contexts, parallel universes are also called "alternate universes", "quantum universes", "interpenetrating dimensions", "parallel dimensions", "parallel worlds", "alternate realities", "alternate timelines", and "dimensional planes", among other names”

Any one of those terms could fit New Jersulalem since it came from ‘elsewhere’.

So again we ask… why the odd shape?

May I introduce… the Hypercube…

The particular version of Hypercube you see in the image above is called a Tesseract.

A Hypercube is a representation of alternate dimensions above and beyond the three that we are familiar with (Up/Down, Left/Right. Forward/Back).

It could very well be that the description of New Jerusalem that John is trying to convey to us is none other than an extremely advanced, “Hyper-Dimensional” World in which we will all get to live in one day.

Thus the Third Heaven would represent the Multiverse.
